Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurse runs clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma & diabetes, and carries out childhood vaccinations and cervical smears. Heidi is also qualified to deal with minor ailments.
Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (taking blood), blood pressure measurement, carrying out ECGs and spirometry, and new patient checks.
Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.
Clinical pharmacists are highly qualified health professionals who train for many years to become specialists in medicines and how they work.

Our midwife holds clinics in our surgery. If you are pregnant you will need to be referred - please let reception know you need a midwife referal. Once referred she is contactable on her mbile number which you will be provided with.

Well baby clinics are held on Mondays & Tuesdays - please call to book in advance.
The health visitor is a registered nurse provides families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social well-being. She can do well baby checks, weight checks and developmental reviews.
