Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurse runs clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma & diabetes and carries out childhood vaccinations and cervical smears. sabrina is also qualified to deal with minor ailments.

Healthcare Assistants

Ijaaz, our healthcare assistant supports practice nurses with their daily work and carries out tasks such as phlebotomy (taking blood), blood pressure measurement, carrying out ECGs and spirometry, and new patient checks.

Reception

Our receptionists, Zaleekha, Zafar and Shabana, provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Pharmacists

Clinical pharmacists are highly qualified health professionals who train for many years to become specialists in medicines and how they work. We are very fortunate to have Khusal as our Clinical Pharmacist who can work directly with you as part of our practice team.

Community Midwives

Our midwife Lisa holds clinics in our surgery. If you are pregnant you will need to be referred - please let reception know you need a midwife referral. Once referred she is contactable on her mobile number which you will be provided with.

Community Nurses

The District Nurse team can be contacted on 03005551919. District Nurses provide nursing care in the community.

Health Visitors

Contact the Health Visiting team on 0121 466 5440 Monday - Friday between 9-5. Well baby clinics are held on Mondays & Tuesdays - please call to book in advance. The health visitor is a registered nurse provides families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social well-being. Our health visitor Salma can do well baby checks, weight checks and developmental reviews.
